Retaining Customers: The Key Getting Repeat Business

Getting repeat business is the key to success in your (or any) business.

In order to do that, you need to make sure that your customer service is so good that the customers return over and over again, and in return, you will have a steady clientele. This way, not only will they continue to return, they will also refer (tell others) about your business, and purchase more of your products, and come back more often.

Some of the ways you can encourage this include:

#1 – Discounts: Discounts are the most common form of offering special to new & existing customers. You should always be offering some type of sale or discount. Decide whether it will be store wide or only for select items. People like to save money. This will not only keep them coming back, they will also bring other customers with them.

#2 – Always watch for What the Customers Like: If you have a popular selling item or a customer asking for a particular product or service make sure that you offer it. Let the customer know when you have them. Chances are, the customer will be interested and you will get a repeat visit.
#3 – Repeat Customer Specials. Believe it or not, there may be times when not making a profit on a sale will pay off big down the line. Always keep your customer’s interest in mind. You may make a little less the first time around, but when the customers returns, you will be the winner.

#4 – Small Samples. The hardest part is getting the first sale. If you want them to come back, always leave them asking for more. Offer them a sample of what you have, and ask them to come back when the product is on sale. Free trials or even a sample packet of a new shampoo can get them to come back.
