Most small business owners know that the economy has not been very kind to them lately. But please do not worry, there is hope. I can say that as I am a small business owner as well, and there is no sense worrying about the economy, as that will not change anything. The only thing you can do is to take positive action and move forward.
There is plenty of opportunities out there, but, they are not going to come looking for you, you have to go out there and get them.
Also, there are a lot of tools available for you today to go out there and get the customers you need to increase your business.
The first step is to recognize that the business landscape has changed. With the tightening economy consumers are more price concious, but even more importantly, the way people do things is changing as well as a result of new technology.
With the advent of the internet and Smart Phone’s, people are changing their habits, and the way in which they get information and communicate with each other.
The yellow pages is on the way out and google, bing and yahoo are on their way in! Consumers have more power in their hands (cell phone) and pocket (smart phone) than most computers had just years ago.
With just 1 or 2 taps of the screen or keyboard they can instantly find out what they need.
So, with all of that in mind – what are you going to do about it ? Sit on the sidelines while your competitors take action ? Or, are you going to be proactive about it ? Embrace this new behavior and technology. use it to your advantage. It is not going to go away, believe me. Solutions are much more inexpensive and easier to implement than you might think.
